Orders

Hi all ;)

Just wanted to stop by to let you all know I am so busy with orders now and I don't have the time to blog.

My son's cardiologist had ordered, for her staff, my stained glass pink rose in a heart plus she purchased some items in my shop. I'm thrilled but my fingers say otherwise lol At least I'm being kept busy. It's just so hard, so fresh, and I miss my son so much but keeping busy helps me throughout the day.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Mine was nice. Our grandson, Johnathan, his mother Michelle and our nephew, Dennis had come up to stay with Mike, Sean and I for 4 days. It was good to have family. We all miss Mikey though. It just wasn't the same but we all did our best to be happy.

Well, I'm going to close for now.
May you all have a great week!

IM BACK

Hi Everyone,

Well, I sure its no surprise to say this has been a very hard year for me. Losing a job is one thing but to lose a son is another. A person can only hold together so much. I've been taking each day as it comes - Hmm- lets say, each "moment" as it comes and its hard. Folks say to me it gets better, I'd like to know when. They forget that my son would have graduated College this Dec. and the holidays are approaching...

Just please patient with me as I go through this difficult time in my life. I know I should be posting for my company's sake but this is really on the bottom of my list for now. I'm just glad I have those of you to read and understand what its like to lose someone you loved very much and was so proud of and grateful you had them for the time you have. My sincere Thanks

I've been passing the time making some Stained Glass ornaments that I would love to share with you. GIFT TAG ANGELS -Can be hung on a small tree afterwards

Repeating Myself

I am home, waiting for my husband so we can head back up to Emory University Hospital. Our son is back in the hospital, since Monday morning.
I found him unconscious. Thank God he's ok now but needs a Heart and Liver Transplant. We are starting the paperwork for University of Miami and Univ. of Pittsburgh.

Please find it in your heart to pray for him.

Saturday, August 22, 2009

Our Son, Michael is home

Evening all,

Just to update you, Michael is home from Emory University Hospital. At this time, I can only be online for a few moments because I have to tend to his needs. He's on an oxygen tank, a ventilator and I have to administer antibiotics through a pic line in his arm. This is quiet the challenge to say the list.

We found out he needs a heart and a liver transplant. I've decided that all my sales will go toward his medications which will can run $500- $3,000 a month. I know I can never make that kind of money with my shop but anything will help.

This is scary to say the least.

Have a good evening all.

Back in the Hospital

Morning All,

Just to update you all, just in case you've been wondering where I've been,
We had to take our son back to the hospital.

Long story short, he will need a Heart and Liver Transplant. I have decided that any sales from my shop, will go into an account for his medications after the surgery which cost roughly $2,000-$3,000.
We are doing all the paper work which feels like I'm applying for a mortgage. I just can't believe it.

I only ask that you say a prayer for him and if you know of anyone that would like stained glass, please refer my shop.

Thanks a lot all and have a good day,
Sunny

Have a Great Weekend All ;)

If I don't see you over the weekend, may you all have a wonderful weekend.

My future Daughter in law is coming up as I type this, with my grandson.
Did I ever mention I was a grandmother? Johnathan is 6yrs old and full of life! Very smart for his age, thanks to his mother, Michelle, who is always teaching him about the world around him. What 6yr old knows science or planets or geometric shapes? I'm very proud of him, thats for sure.

I also want to take this time to welcome all the new folks who have joined my blog! (waving)

If you scroll down on the left hand side of my blog, you will see information I have learned. Two people who are very popular on Etsy is MagnetGames and Tim Adams. Both are sellers on Etsy but contribute a lot of their time teaching us how to use Etsy or Google Analytics and just how to brand/market our wares.

I want to also inform any of you who are new to Etsy, to please familiarize yourself with the Forums. There is a wealth of information provided for you. Etsy bends over backwards for us so take advantage of it.
Also, if you go to the Community Section, under Virtual Labs, there you will see dates/times for Critiquing or if you want to learn how to make something, check there too.
I met a person today (dang if I can't remember her whole shop name) who is part of the Sassy Team (which means: Sellers Assisting Sellers). Hmm, BuggaLove I believe it was. (I'll have to type it and see what comes up) Anyway, she mentioned that she helps out with Etsy newbies and posted her team http://www.etsy.com/forums_thread.php?thread_id=6137039 which also has valuable information for all of us. See? Everyone wants to help, including me in my own little way ;) As I learn, I'll pass my information to you.

Ok all, again, you have a great weekend and if you see me in the chat rooms, give me a holla ;)

Custom Tangerine Ornaments

Hi Everyone,

I just love to be challenged when a person requests my stained glass. I am a blue and red person and think everything should be cobalt blue or barn red. I made ornaments weeks ago and everyone loves them and right now, they are my biggest seller outside of Etsy- yes, I go to other places such as Facebook Marketplace to sell my stained glass.
Anyway, I received an email on Etsy from a woman who wanted a "tangerine" ornament. I screwed up my face thinking, orange? Well, I surprised myself and here they are. They turned out lovely. She was so excited and bought them immediately after I showed her a pic of them Before I even reserved them for her on my Etsy shop! I love to make people smile ;)

New Ornaments listed

Hi All,

I just listed 2 ornaments on Deb's Pane In The Glass.

I had purchased a while back from DIYOrnament, a package of filigree for my stained glass. I was thinking of the holiday sbecause many years ago I made ornaments using them. I decided to make a few this morning & see if they sell on Etsy.

Final Making of a Stained Glass Business Card Holder For NotSoShabbyChic

Well, its done, paid for and shipped! I know the expression on her face when she opens the box. Another happy customer ;)
I also send a Thank You card with instructions on how to clean Stained Glass along with a gift as a Thank You.

Part 3 of Making a Stained Glass Business Card Holder

As I was sending her photos of her card holder, she was very excited in her emails to me. That's what I like to see, anticipation and the excitement. I know my customers will be very grateful when they receive a piece of art from me, especially after seeing how it is being made.
Here is a photo of it coming together:

Part 2 of Making a Stained Glass Business Card Holder

NotSoShabbyChic was given 3 different photos. All showed the same pink glass but each had a different color for the diamond effect. The one I am showing you is the one she picked out.
Here is a pic of it cut and grinded. Looks like puzzle pieces doesn't it? well, its one of the steps in making a suncatcher, window panel, etc., is to cut each piece, using a pattern then grind each piece so the edges are smooth and fit like a puzzle piece. She received this in the mail too. I like to show a customers work in progress.

The Making of a Business Card Holder for NotSoShabbyChic

Afternoon Everyone!

I wanted to show you how a Stained Glass product is made. I have just sold this beautiful Custom made Woman's Business Card Holder to NotSoShabbyChic today.
She had asked me if the Men's Business Card Holder I am selling on Etsy could be in pink with the diamond being a clear glass. Of course I told her she can have whatever color she chooses, so, below, you will see the pics I had sent her before I actually made it.
Just to let you all know, whenever I design/make something for a customer, I send pictures to show them what is taking place, step by step.

I'M IN A TREASURY!!

I am soooo excited! I just went into my Pane In The Glass shop and found an email. It was from a person I don't know, which took me back a bit but I'm thinking, like me, they browse other shops and heart them. This is a beautiful treasury and not because my custom made window panel was used for it but because there are so many other beautiful items on it!
There so many talented artists out there I always wonder why go to big Department Stores to shop where you can come right to Etsy to purchase baby, womens, mens, home etc!

Please check out this beautiful treasury and Thank You DCHStudio for putting me in your beautiful Treasury ;)

Good Morning All

Good Morning Everyone and boy, I truly mean all 13 of you!
To be honest with you, I haven't noticed how many people I had on my blog until today. I hardly look at the #. The last time I actually Looked at it was maybe a month ago? At that time, I had a few, like 6 I think,so, I want to say Thank you for wanting to follow me. It makes me feel good to know that not only I have followers but that I am doing the right thing by making a blog for the shop and learning how to use the internet properly instead of just searching.
I can say now that I am enjoying Google Analytic because I've learned somewhat the basics of How to use it and I'm enjoying Etsy even though I am Still learning but got the hang of it so I am now feeling comfortable posting my stained glass items and chatting in the rooms. I've been meeting a lot of nice people in the rooms and admire their craft. The only thing I wish not (not yet anyway) is to get too personal about my life. There is a lot going on with my family right now (and what family isn't going through hell at this time) but Etsy and this blog is my escape from reality at times so again, my thank you for just being here.
Well, I have to finish with the gardens...more transplanting seedlings, fixing the cucumber vines so I'll be in the room sometime today. If your reading this now, thanks for letting me "vent" ;)
I wish you all a great Sunday ;)

Etsy Technology Help

Good Morning All!

I sometimes go into Forums on Etsy to ask questions about things like the Google Analytic and such, so one day I had a question and a nice person replied but she had given me much more to read/understand/learn and I thought this again was a good opportunity to share the information with you.

http://etsytechnologyhelp.blogspot.com/2009/05/how-to-find-out-who-has-mentioned-your.html

Within this above blog, there was a site I fell upon and I was very interested in. Its a site and a good resource of how to find out who mentions your blog. You can track who mentions your blog in theirs. Pretty interesting huh? Who would have thought of something like this? Not me.
Internet has come a long way, that's for sure! I'm just happy there are folks like Magnet Games and Tim Adam that helps folks like me and you become knowledgeable in this fast pace computer world we live in! I love these computer kids! (Giving away my age ;) )
Magnet Games has a "donate" section to keep her site running. I'm thinking if I have some spare money, I'm going to give to her. Her site is well worth it in my eyes.
I'm glad to help you too by searching and posting, for you and for me. Under these economic times, we need to help each other out one way or another ;)

Have a great weekend all

Free Shipping

I changed my shipping in my Etsy site, on certain items such as Suncatchers, Window Corners and Business Card Holders. I've decided to charge no shipping in the US.

Unfortunately, at present time, I cannot do it for International postage. Hopefully, in the future, I can at least reduce the cost.

I am only doing this for certain Stained Glass items due to the size/weight. My Lamps and Window Panels will be costly to ship so there is a charge for those items.

I DESIGNED HDAWNPARROTT BUSINESS CARD HOLDER

Posted by Picasa

HDawnParrott had asked me the beginning of April, to make her a Business Card Holder that looked like her Trade Mark Polar Bear. She had asked another Stained Glass Artist a while back and thought they came to an agreement only to soon realize that she wasn't receiving any replies from her emails so she in turned asked me.
I didn't hesitate in anyway. I was busy making some suncatchers for a craft show and thought, "why not, it will only take about 10 hours" so, I began emailing her with photos of it as I went along. I like to do that with my customers so they can see what is going on with their item until the very end.

I want to also address that Heathers cards and other items are simply beatiful and professional and I would recommend her to anyone!

Camping Tent

DESCRIPTION:

CUSTOM MADE Camping Tent a person had requested through an email. It was a joy to do. I drew it by hand, measuring 3"x 4" as she requested and showed her pictures of the glass along with the drawing of the tent.
